Looking Forward to Great Things in the New Year!
A break from the normal routine is always good. Breaks provide a time for regrouping and refreshing. Coming back from breaks refreshed can be very productive and I am looking forward to the second half of the year for that reason along with new opportunities both for me personally and the staff as a whole.
The new year provides me, personally, with a new opportunity - Stanfield School District Superintendent. Our previous superintendent, Darce Driskel, retired and, after 4 1/2 years as the elementary principal, I was appointed to succeed him effective January 1st. This is my first superintendent's position, and although I am new, I am confident and prepared. I have always had a passion for education and leadership and look forward to working in this new role.
Entering into the 2nd half of the year gives district staff an opportunity to realize the fruits of our labor from the hard work we put in during first half of the year. We will continue the "Move Toward Exemplary " - a vision and strategic plan created by Mr. Driskel and one that will continue to be the priority of the Stanfield School District under my leadership. The vision and strategic plan encourages staff to evaluate all functions of the district with student learning, communication, and facility improvement as the priorities. For more information on the strategic plan, see this website.
