Tears of Joy Theatre entertains and teaches Stanfield Elementary students

The entire student body at Stanfield Elementary was treated to a performance by the nationally acclaimed Tears of Joy Theatre on Thursday, Feb. 11. Based in Portland, Tears of Joy brings amazing puppet theater to audiences throughout the U.S. and abroad. They have received American puppetry’s highest honor, the Citation of Excellence in the Art of Puppetry.

Stanfield sixth graders learn to be authors

Stanfield Elementary Media Manager Laurie Nelsen doesn’t see any reason that sixth graders can’t be authors. And Stanfield’s sixth grade students are proving her right. After putting together a similar program when she taught high school in Arlington, she decided to try the same idea with the sixth graders here during their library time.

Stanfield Elementary canned food drive huge success

Stanfield Elementary students, families, and staff surpassed all expectations to help their community with a canned food drive. The Hermiston Herald recently recognized them as the 'HH Hero'. Congratulations, Stanfield Elementary!
